This was reported by representatives of the British authorities. In doing so, they noted that unauthorized access does not mean hacker attacks, said the site News.com.

Statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs was a response to a parliamentary inquiry that came late last week. Experts told to the authorities that a period of five years in the database were recorded five violations of procedures for access, most of which came at the hands of the civilian staff.

In four of the five documented cases of unauthorized access included officials, use the database for non-powers of their goals. Thrice staff, using their access level, checks are not included in their duties, and once a staff member «wrongly used the data to which he was granted access».

In all cases, disciplinary action was taken, resulting in the dismissal of employees. In doing so, one officer left his post, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Fifth case of violation of the procedures of the database is linked to technical failure in the prison service. Replaced the damaged system, said officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Staff of Identity and Passports service (IPS) said that the problems in their database will not affect the project for the introduction of ID-cards to create a repository of personal and biometric data. «IPS very seriously protect systems and data. To prevent the misuse of systems and detection of such use, there are a number of procedures. IPS has the authority to investigate any misuse of data access and operate the most stringent way », – said representative of the Ministry.

However, the IPS recognize that there are still gaps in the security system, despite all the existing procedures.
